There's a smokiness to this bottling of a nearly forgotten grape that recalls mezcal. The palate shows lots of peppercorn, herb and rustic fruit flavors, again popping with a mezcal note on the finish.
Made from grapes grown at the Lonesome Oak Vineyards, owned by Mary Anne and Jon Walters in Valley Center, CA. After years of diligent work resurrecting a vineyard that, in 2017, only produced 100 lbs. of grapes, we have our third 100% Carménère from this 1/3 acre vineyard.
